About Our Firm
Gentile, McCloskey & Company is a highly qualified, customer driven, full service
accounting firm. We provide all levels of accounting services including in house and on-site
bookkeeping, payroll services, sales and property tax filings. We specialize in individual
and business income tax preparation. Additionally, we provide audit support and
mitigation, financial statement compilation and review as well as entity formations and
consulting as needed.
Julie Gentile has been a Certified Public Accountant in California for over sixteen years.
She has worked extensively in public and corporate accounting and she has been a
specialist in the tax area for over twenty years. During her tenure at KPMG, an
international public accounting firm, Julie worked extensively on non-profit organizations,
partnerships and small to mid-sized companies. Subsequently, she held the position of Tax
Director at PacifiCare Health Systems, a multi-national HMO. Julie holds a Bachelor's
degree in Accounting, a Master's degree in Business Taxation and has completed her
Doctoral studies in Business Philosophy. Additionally, Julie is a tax and accounting
professor, at both the University and Community College levels.
Patrick McCloskey is a licensed real estate broker/agent in both California and Illinois, as
well as a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed contractor in California. He is an
expert in the areas of real estate, property management and consulting. Patrick has over
fifteen years experience in public accounting and private industry in the areas of consulting,
information systems and real estate management. He worked as a tax manager at the world
headquarters of Arthur Andersen prior to taking the position of President/CEO for a
computer services and Internet service provider in Chicago. Patrick has extensive
experience in systems design and disaster recovery consulting. Patrick holds a Bachelor's
degree in Accounting and also teaches a variety of accounting courses at the Community
College level.
Our staff consists of in-house and on-site bookkeepers. These individuals have experience
with a variety of accounting software packages. We are certified Quick Books Pro-
Advisors and can provide on-site support and training for our client’s staff, or serve as
temporary labor when needed. We also employ seasonal accountants for tax preparation
during the annual filing season. All staff work is personally reviewed and supervised by one
of the firm’s partners.
